Train journey from Lucerne to Lugano. Experience the new Gotthard Base Tunnel- with its 57 kilometres it is the longest train tunnel in the world. The time taken is around 17 minutes to travel this route under the Alpine massif. Overnight in Lugano.
Explore the UNESCO world heritage route via Bernina Express of the Rhaetian Railway. Enjoy an Alpine switchback ride, that will transfer you from swaying palms land to one of the towering glaciers. Overnight in St. Moritz.
Board the Glacier Express and enjoy one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. Overnight in Zermatt
Experience the best: You will be taken up to the Europe’s highest cable car station by the Zermatt Bergbahnen AG. The 360° view is awesome and remember to explore Cinema Lounge, Viewing platform, Peak Shop, Snow-Tubing, Glacier palace. Overnight in Zermatt.
Move to the Montreux, by train. Explore the Lake Geneva on the north side of the Alps, shared between Switzerland and France. Overnight in Montreux.
Visit Bernese Oberland by the Golden Pass Line train that will takes you to the Bernese Oberland via mountain villages. Overnight in Interlaken.
Move to the Jungfraujoch- Top of Europe, the highest altitude railway rock of Europe, which can be admired at from vantage terraces, the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. Overnight in Interlaken.
Explore the lakeside of the metropolis Zurich and free time is at leisure. Overnight in Zurich.
Come back to airport or Swiss border or you can even opt to stay at your own choice station in Switzerland. Switzerland offers an amazing experience of enjoying in an ice or snow.
On the last day of your trip, pack your bags and return to home with the lovely memories.
Q: What is the most appropriate type of luggage to bring?
We strongly recommend bringing a backpack or duffel bag, as suitcases can be cumbersome and difficult to store in buses, under seats, etc.. Keep in mind that you will normally have to carry your own luggage on and off buses and trains and up and down hotel staircases. Suitcases with wheels may not work well on dirt or cobblestone roads.
Q: What Travel Documents Do I Need?
One must have his/her passport, IDs and visa stamped (if required for that particular country). Any specific documents required will be informed you earlier.
Q: Can you help arrange my travel visas?
Requirements for travel visas vary widely depending on your nationality and your destination. Although we are unable to arrange visas on your behalf but there are several visa immigration service providers who can help you in this process.
Q: I'm a single traveller, will I be charged a single supplement?
TMost of our trips do not have a single supplement. This means that the accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, you will be sharing a room with another fliptrip traveller of the same sex. Some tours have an optional single supplement or rarely a mandatory single supplement. An optional service that may be available is called "My Own Room". This service allows solo travellers to request their own private room while on tour. The cost and the details vary by trip, so please refer to each trip summary page for details.
Q: Can I join a tour late or leave it early?
It's extremely difficult if not impossible to join a tour after it has begun. It is possible to leave a tour early however you will be responsible for your own arrangements from the moment you decide to leave the tour. You would also be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving one early. If you feel this may be necessary please consult a fliptrip Specialist before you book your adventure.
Q: What type of ground transportation is used on your tours?
Trip specific information on transportation can be found on the trip summary page however in most cases we use public transportation. We've found that how you get there significantly influences the tone of your journey and public transportation allows face-to-face interaction with the local people. Some of our adventures, including our “Superior”, "Comfort Class" and most adventures in Africa, use private transportation.
Q: Can I book extra nights of hotel accommodation before or after my tour?
Yes, in most cases we can arrange additional accommodation at our starting or ending hotels, excluding European tours. Please contact a fliptrip Specialist for price information or check under “Hotels, Transfers & City Breaks” on the tour page of our website for prices. If we are unable to provide you with the extra nights we will give you the name of a hotel you can contact directly. Please also note that extra accommodations must be booked outside of 30 days of departure.
